Exciting news is emerging from Japan for sports car enthusiasts. Suzuki and Toyota are teaming up to create a brand-new entry-level sports car. This collaboration will also involve Daihatsu, bringing multiple versions of the new model to the market. This development suggests that the beloved Suzuki Cappuccino might make a grand return after being off the scene for 26 years.

Unlike the original Suzuki Cappuccino, which featured a small 657cc engine, the new model will come equipped with a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup. This engine will also power the new Toyota Starlet, which will initially be available only in Japan. It's worth noting that Toyota sells another Starlet hatchback in South Africa, which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Baleno.

The upcoming Suzuki Cappuccino will be a sleek, open-top roadster, measuring around 4 meters in length, 1.7 meters in width, and 1.2 meters in height, with a wheelbase of approximately 2,480mm. The car will offer both manual and automatic transmission options, catering to different driving preferences.

The original Suzuki Cappuccino was produced between 1991 and 1998 and was primarily sold in Japan, though some units made their way to other countries, including India. This new version promises to build on the legacy of the original while introducing modern enhancements and improved performance.
