Mahindra has officially launched the Thar Roxx, its latest SUV offering, with prices beginning at ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This rugged vehicle comes in six different trims—MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3, AX5, and AX7—offering both petrol and diesel variants. The prices for the top-end 4x4 models will be disclosed closer to the delivery dates.
The Thar Roxx features a robust design, measuring 4,428 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, and 1,923 mm in height, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase. It includes a 57-liter fuel tank and offers a generous 447-liter boot space. The SUV's off-road capabilities are enhanced with a 650 mm water-wading depth and impressive approach, breakover, and departure angles.
Under the hood, the Thar Roxx is powered by two engine options: a 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol and a 2.2L mHawk turbo-diesel. The petrol engine produces 162 Hp and 330 Nm of torque with a manual transmission, while the automatic variant delivers 177 Hp and 380 Nm. The diesel engine offers 152 Hp and 330 Nm with a manual gearbox, and 175 Hp and 370 Nm with an automatic.
Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx in seven striking colors: Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Deep Forest, Nebula, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna. All variants feature a black-painted roof for added style.
Inside, the Thar Roxx is loaded with features, including a 60:40 rear split, 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. Other highlights include powered seats, two sunroof options, connected car technology, Level-2 ADAS, acoustic glass, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and a 360-degree parking camera. Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate features like crawl control, intelliturn assist, and selectable terrain control modes.
Mahindra will begin offering test drives for the Thar Roxx starting September 14, with bookings opening on October 3. Deliveries are expected to begin by Dussehra.
