AIIMS Patna Ready for Action if Students Found Guilty in NEET-UG Leak Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently arrested four medical students from AIIMS Patna in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. The AIIMS Patna Director, Dr. Gopal Krushna Pal, confirmed the arrests and stated that the institute would take appropriate action if the students are found guilty. Dr. Pal mentioned that the administrative committee has discussed the issue and is considering suspension, pending legal opinion and written confirmation from the CBI.
The students, identified as Karan Jain, Kumar Sanu, Rahul Anand, and Chandan Singh, allegedly solved papers for the main accused, Pankaj Singh, a civil engineer. The NEET-UG exam, held on May 5, 2024, has been plagued by controversies, including allegations of cheating and impersonation. As a result, the Union Health Ministry has postponed the NEET-PG 2024 examination.
The NEET-UG is a crucial exam for admissions into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses across India. This year, around 24 lakh candidates appeared for the exam at 4,750 centers.
